Dear Mountain Park Community,

Since early March, the Board of Directors have met to discuss as to where to go from here as we navigate this global health crisis. Every member of the Mt. Park community is affected by this pandemic and the Board had to make tough decisions to secure the future of the operations while also protecting the members and the employees.

The decision was at first to close the Clubhouse operations until March 31 and this has now been extended until April 30 with the hope of reopening on May 1. This date, of course, could change again as we continue to monitor the guidelines set forth by the proper authorities.

As a non-profit Homeowners Association, we differ from other organizations that offer a Clubhouse environment and services that Mt. Park provides to its members and patron members. Our annual budget is supported by two sources of income; semi-annual member assessments and services. The services include the PlaySchool, Patron Memberships, Events, Swim Programs, KidZone Camp and Fitness Programs. The mandated closure of the Clubhouse has led to a loss of income from those services and we continue to have costs to sustain our assets, fund our reserves, meet our financial obligations and fund employee payroll/benefits.  The Board of Directors deemed it feasible to pay all employees during the first two weeks of the closure. Now with an extended closure to manage through, we have had a reduction in our staff and will continue to maintain only essential staff.

In the meantime, staff from the following departments: Administrative, Fitness/Aquatics, Member Services, Accounting, Events, and Compliance are working remotely, and you can contact them by emailing the department. You can find the department email contact information by going on the Mt. Park website homepage. Each department is working towards maintaining communication with the community and finding creative ways to bring information and services to you virtually.

The Landscape Stewardship team is working hard to maintain our trails, parks, forest and landscape. Though we are all maintaining social distancing, we hope you will take this opportunity to walk the 9 ½ miles of walking trails and enjoy both the scenery and the sunshine.

I am sure that you may have a lot of questions. Please continue to visit the Mt. Park website to get updates and information.

We miss the buzz at the Clubhouse and look forward to seeing you in the near future.

Stay Well and Healthy,
Jennifer Anne
