Autumn Work Party Volunteer Event

MEETING LOCATION: Churchill Downs & McNary Parkway (trail entrance to Elizabeth Gress Park)
Mountain Park’s common spaces are home to a diverse forest and important wildlife corridor, but invasive species, particularly ivy, have overtaken the area. Volunteers are needed to help pull invasive plants and seed native groundcover. Ivy pulling requires bending or kneeling, but alternate tasks can be arranged for those with mobility issues. The event is outdoors, so dress for the weather, and wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes. Bring water, gloves, and any necessary medications. Tools, gloves, and training will be provided. Children are welcome with adult supervision, but note that there are no bathrooms on-site.
