The City of Lake Oswego is preparing to pave Jefferson Parkway from Westlake Drive to Kerr Parkway. A contractor is being hired and work will begin in May. Most of the work will occur this summer when school is not in session. From mid-June to late August, Jefferson Parkway will be closed in segments as heavy equipment grinds down the existing road more than 16 inches deep, rebuilds a sturdy roadbed, and paves. This is a pavement rehabilitation project and no new sidewalk will be added.
Work hours are generally Mondays – Saturdays, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Road closures with detours will be in place 24 hours per day when the road bed has been ground down and a street closure is in effect. At times, it will be unsafe to travel on sections of the road. A few streets have only one access point to
Jefferson Parkway. Access will be carefully coordinated. Only residents on those streets will be allowed access.
The City and contractor will help maintain neighborhood services, such as garbage service and mail delivery, and fire and emergency services will have access to the neighborhood. We appreciate all neighbors abiding by traffic control signage and avoiding active construction areas for the safety of all.
