Dear Lake Oswego Neighbor: Impending Road Closure
Please join us for the 41st Annual Lake Run Saturday, May 13, 2017. This year’s 10k will take runners around the lake route. Runners will climb McVey Avenue and proceed along South Shore Drive around Oswego Lake to Iron Mountain Boulevard where the finish will be down hill on Evergreen Street at Millennium Plaza Park.
The 5k will go around Lakewood Bay and onto North Shore Drive giving runners and walkers alike a grand view of the main lake. Participants will finish on Iron Mountain Boulevard, circling on Chandler Rd. towards the finish line on Evergreen Street.
The races start at 8:00AM on Saturday, May 13,2017. The roads in your area will be closed to vehicular traffic in one lane for about 30 minutes to an hour after 8:00AM. Both lanes on Iron Mountain will close at 8:25AM to 9:00AM from Berwick down to the round-about. Should you need to travel outside your neighborhood, please follow the instructions of the traffic control personnel.
The Kids’ Dash will begin at the finish area on Evergreen Street and 2nd Street with a quick two block dash that turns around and finishes under the finish line arch. Sections of Evergreen Street will be closed from 8:00AM to 11:30AM. You will be able to leave your home when all runners have cleared the area.
All net proceeds from the 41st Lake Run benefits the Clackamas County Women’s Services, The Children’s Center, Court Appointed Special Advocates, and more. The Lake Oswego Women’s Club also provides scholarships to deserving high school seniors who have performed exemplary community service.
